What is our goal in the long run?

On October 9, 2018 the Saratoga Springs City School District’s Board of Education made the negligent decision to disarm grounds monitors in a 5 to 4 vote. In response to this decision, Saratoga Parents for Safer Schools was formed. SPFSS advocates for the reinstatement of historically proven security measures to protect students, faculty, and administration within the school district. It is our contention that The Board of Education’s decision to end the decades long, safe practice of grounds monitors being armed on campus is negligent and puts district children at great risk.

How it works

Saratoga Parents for Safer Schools strives to educate community members on the importance of school security. We hope to inspire widespread community involvement regarding this important issue. Additionally, we intend to work diligently to elect new board of education trustees that support our organization’s mission of putting children’s safety first.
