Saratoga Parents for Safer Schools hope to inspire widespread community involvement regarding the issue of school safety. We collectively envision an educational environment that is safe and effective for all students, faculty and staff.
SPFSS was created as a response to the reckless decision made on Oct 9th, 2018 to remove armed monitors within our schools. We are now dedicated to ensuring that the district find a solution and restore the protection that had been in place for the past 30 years without incident.
According to the Saratoga Springs City Police Department the average response time in the event of an emergency is 7.7 minutes. If your child is in need of immediate help and assistance, seven minutes could be the difference between life and death.
SPFSS is dedicated to educating the community on the importance of school safety. We believe in focusing our efforts on “hard” line protection, while continuing to increase “soft” preventative measures.
SPFSS will continue to work with local law enforcement, City Council, as well as national professional organizations to ensure that lifesaving protection is available to everyone in the Saratoga Springs City School District community.
